A couple of months ago, I bought a handful of products from Avon. I’d become familiar with the brand a few years ago when local representatives would post a brochure through our letterbox.
Whilst this hasn’t happened recently, especially due to the current pandemic, I found myself wanting to try out new products instead of venturing to the limited number of shops open. Whilst I wasn’t in need over many new things, I was intrigued to check out new items on Avon’s website after so long.
I ordered four things, but this also turned out to be a fail when one of the items I was most looking forward to trying – Avon True Nutra Effects Lightweight Facial Oil – was out of stock! (but I was refunded. Sadly it looks like this has also been discontinued along with a few others products…)
Anyhow, I managed to get my hands on three facial products. My skin type varies throughout the month, depending on stress levels, hormones and the weather: it is mainly combination, but keeps me on my toes by sometimes switching to either oily or very dry.
THE PRODUCTS
Skin So Soft Original Dry Oil Spray
-£3.50 for 150ml
-This spray isn’t at all ‘oily’ or messy and sinks into the skin like a fresh sponge. The scent is fresh, with infusions of natural oils and jojoba; almost a fresh, suncream-like scent
-I really liked this product and can see myself becoming a convert from creams to oils. The scents last longer and there is no ‘sticky’ feeling once it has been rubbed into the skin.

Clearskin Pore & Shine Control Exfoliating Scrub
-£3 for 75ml
-Sold out/discontinued
-A gentle yet hard-working scrub with scents of witch hazel and eucalyptus. This left my skin feeling super smooth and clean, especially with its clean and refreshing scent.

Anew Cleansing Balm
-£7 for 50ml
-Sold out/discontinued
-I overlooked the price of this balm when adding it to my cart; even though it smells rich and like a spa, this thick buttery-balm does the job, but I would say there are better alternatives where you could get a lot more for the same price or a teeny bit more.

The oil I wanted:
Avon True Nutra Effects Lightweight Facial Oil
-Sold out/discontinued
-I was trying to find an alternative for my favourite facial oils which include: L’oreal, Garnier and Kiehl’s, but will be on the look out for others.
Overall for my three products, I paid £16.50 including delivery. The dispatch was pretty quick, despite the current situation, so I was pretty pleased. It was a shame not to get to try out the facial oil, but I’m pleased to say I’m definitely a convert for the dry oil spray!
