Super Healthy Skin Hot Oil Double Cleansing Balm

Cleansing balms are a dream! They are so soft and gentle, including this one which melts into an oil when rubbed into the skin to remove makeup faultlessly. It smells heavenly and is thick and rich with a super silky texture. This is SO a dupe of the Elemis cleansing balm, equally smelling like a spa, but without the might price tag!

I had no idea what this product would be like – a cream? A gel?
It is a cream with a gentle retinol which aims to unclog pores and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This was my first experience trying a retinol product: I’ve read multiple times that using this a few days a week is a sweet spot, so I use this no more than 2 days in a row, which is all my skin needs to combat acne.
I really enjoyed this product! I put this on just before bed, especially if I feel my skin is becoming a little congested or spotty. You don’t need too much; it sinks into the skin and within 48 hours my skin has for sure calmed down and any signs of spots have diminished, dare I say! My skin feels super soft and plump the next day as well.
Plantastic Apricot Butter Cleansing Balm

Continuing with another cleansing balm, but this time with an apricot scent – yum! It smells amazing! This generous matte green jar comes with a teeny spatula which I sometimes use to scoop a pea sized amount, otherwise my finger. I love the thick, rich texture which takes makeup off like a dream when rubbed into the skin. It like the smell too: fruity!
Wonderscrub Bio-Dermabrasion Face Polish

I was a tad mistaken when using this product as I thought it would be really gritty and scrub into pores. There is a subtle ‘scrubbing’ experience when used on my t-zone, although I do prefer something a bit more hardcore. It comes in a neat, dinky white tube, but only for face use I’d say. It’s gentle, but not for those who want some serious un-clogging action.
Super Pore Detox Purifying Black Clay Mask

A good black clay mask if you want to look like the moon emoji. Only a little is needed and lasts a long way, which I apply with a brush. It dries in less than 10 minutes, smells fresh, and leaves me feeling like a soothed, clean pebble afterwards. However, it’s hard to beat L’Oréal’s black clay mask, especially when on offer.

Ugh, I do not like this product. I can’t explain the feeling but I just was not a fan. I disliked the feeling of this on my skin, where I couldn’t wait to get it off. It feels like a thick layer of warm, gritty jelly on my face, where after removal I felt like it hadn’t done too much.
As I said in my YouTube video, it feels as though a snail has pooped on my face when using this…
Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser

This wasn’t exactly mesmerising, but it did the job. A creamy-jelly cleanser in a tube, where you then turn it into a milky consistency when rubbed with water. It’s a nice texture, clean and takes makeup off easily. You also don’t need a lot, so the tube lasts for a while. Not my fave, but that’s because I enjoy cleansing butters/balms a lot more.
