Even after a year, my Aldi and Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser review continues to drive new visitors to Lizzie’s Week!
I thought now would be the time to do another review, this time between the Soap + Glory Peaches & Clean Deep Cleansing Milk and Lidl Cien Cleansing Milk.
I love trying out different makeup and skincare products, seeing if budget can be just as good as splurging!
In this case, both are decent prices: Soap + Glory is £8 for 350ml (a lot of the time, it is on an offer in Boots) whilst Lidl’s is £1.59 for 250ml. Proportionately, is it worth paying less or more?
Both aim to clean the skin of dirt and makeup. So let’s compare.

Lidl Cien Cleansing Milk
I’m always open to a bargain, so when I first saw this in Lidl and I decided to give it a go. Also, it is cruelty free! My initial thoughts were; it’s okay. However, as I used it more, I felt it started to make me skin tingle. I have almost finished it now and fortunately my skin hasn’t reacted, but I do not like the tingle regardless – that’s probably not a good sign either! It also smells a bit artificial and full of chemicals. I would say this is not for sensitive skin.
Annoyingly, the bottle is not recyclable! I tweeted them about it and if they plan to change this but they didn’t respond, but hopefully they will have seen it and consider this in future.
I’ve purchased this at least a couple of times before, especially when it is on offer in Boots. It is cruelty free, smells amazing and the bottle is recyclable! Hallelujah! This is slightly thicker than the Lidl cleanser and glides into the skin, which I would say is very ideal for sensitive skin. It is super moisturising and doesn’t leave a greasy residue when wiped off. Makeup melts off and skin is left feeling squeaky clean – a winner!
You can also save money by getting a 2-pack!*

It’s safe to say I will not be purchasing the Cien one again… Soap & Glory continues to be a winner in my eyes! But keep an eye out for other reviews as I’m always on the look out to try something new!
